Staying in Hollywood while in LA.? - hollywood orchid suites

I have a hotel in Hollywood would be interested in booking a trip for 4 nights in September. Hollywood Orchid Suites, $ 108/night, behind the Teatro Garuma. Seems a good location for the price, just a short walk from attractions and public transportation (do not go to plan).
What is this area like the night, when? Is this a good price you think? The hotel is easy, but it does not go to the comments on Trip Advisor are promising. What are your ideas?
